The TST 1500W fat tire electric bike is one of the most visible moped-style e-bikes on Amazon US. It pairs a scrambler look with 20″ x 4.0″ fat tires, dual suspension and a removable 48V battery. The headline says “1500W”, but the number that matters most for range, heat and the law is further down the listing. This review sorts out what the Amazon listing (ASIN B0GCZRVH4V) and TST’s own spec pages actually promise, and where the two disagree.
How we research: We did not physically test this bike. This review is based on the live Amazon US listing (checked November 2026) and the manufacturer’s published specifications. Range figures are our own estimates from battery capacity, not measurements. Read our research method.

Quick Verdict
The TST is a good fit if you want a comfortable, low-slung fat bike for neighborhood rides, errands and light dirt or sand, and you’re happy to spend some time adjusting brakes and bolts after delivery. It publishes a 750W rated motor next to the 1,500W peak figure, which many Amazon listings don’t. You also get a removable 48V 15Ah (720 Wh) battery, front and rear suspension, a 7-speed derailleur and a stated 450 lb maximum load.
The compromises are just as clear. The brakes are mechanical (cable) discs. The Amazon spec table lists the frame material as iron. The warranty on the Amazon listing is 180 days. And the 60-mile range claim is a best-case pedal-assist number, not what most riders will see.

Motor and Power: 750W Rated, 1,500W Peak
The most useful line on the listing is “750W rated motor (1500W peak power)”. The rated (nominal) figure is what the motor can sustain. The peak figure is a short burst when you accelerate from a stop or climb. That matters for two reasons:
- Legality. Most US state e-bike laws cap motor power at 750W, and the rated figure is the one that normally counts.
- Heat and longevity. A 750W hub motor that briefly peaks at 1,500W is a normal setup for a heavy fat bike, as long as you don’t run it flat out uphill for long stretches.
One inconsistency: the listing’s product description says “749W motor (2000W peak power)”, while the bullets say 750W / 1,500W. The rated figure is essentially the same in both. We treat 1,500W as the peak, because that’s what the title and bullets say.
TST quotes 90 Nm of torque for the R002 on its own site. Amazon doesn’t state torque for this listing, so take it as a manufacturer figure for a closely related model, not a measured number for the R004.
Battery, Charging and Real-World Range
The bullets describe a 48V 15Ah removable battery, and the listing’s battery field says 720 watt-hours, which matches the math (48 x 15 = 720). The title also offers a 25Ah version (48 x 25 = 1,200 Wh). Check which battery the option you pick includes before you buy. The battery locks to the frame and can be charged on or off the bike.
TST claims up to 60 miles in pedal-assist mode and up to 40 miles on throttle alone for the 15Ah pack. Those are best-case figures: low assist, a light rider, flat ground and mild weather.
Our range estimate
A simple way to estimate real-world range is to divide battery capacity by typical energy use. For a heavy fat tire e-bike ridden with a mix of throttle and medium assist, 20–25 watt-hours per mile is a realistic range.
- 15Ah (720 Wh): 720 ÷ 25 = about 29 miles; 720 ÷ 20 = about 36 miles.
- 25Ah (1,200 Wh): 1,200 ÷ 25 = about 48 miles; 1,200 ÷ 20 = about 60 miles.
These are our estimates, not test results. Heavier riders, hills, cold weather, low tire pressure and full-throttle riding all push you toward the bottom of the range or below it. You can run your own numbers with our electric fat bike range calculator.

Calculate TST 1500W range (15Ah) → 25Ah version →Charging: Amazon says 6–7 hours. TST’s R002 page says 4–5 hours with a 54.6V 3A charger. The difference probably comes down to the charger in the box, so check the label on yours.
Frame, Suspension and Fit
The TST uses a moped-style frame with a long bench-style seat, front suspension fork and a rear shock. Paired with 20″ x 4″ tires, it’s built to soak up broken pavement, curbs and gravel rather than to be fast and nimble.
Two things worth knowing:
- Frame material. The Amazon spec table lists it as “Iron”. Most moped-style bikes in this class use steel or aluminum, and listings are often vague. The practical point is that this is a heavy bike: 66 lbs on Amazon, 71.87 lbs on TST’s page. If you need to carry it up stairs or onto a car rack, plan for that weight.
- Fit. A bench seat adjusts less than a normal seatpost. TST publishes a size chart on its site, but the Amazon listing doesn’t give a rider height range, so check TST’s chart if you’re especially short or tall.
The 20-inch wheels keep the seat low, so it’s easy to put a foot down at stops. Several buyers mention this in their reviews on the listing.
Brakes, Gears and Controls
- Brakes: The bullets say front and rear mechanical disc brakes and tell you to inspect and adjust them before the first ride. The spec table says “Linear Pull”, which looks like a data-entry error given the bullets, but it’s worth a look at the photos before you order. Mechanical discs work, but on a heavy bike they need a firm squeeze and regular adjustment. Budget for good pads, and if you plan to ride fast, consider an upgrade to hydraulic brakes.
- Gears: 7-speed rear derailleur with a twist-grip shifter.
- Modes: The listing mentions “3 working modes” (typically throttle, pedal assist and pedal-only) and “2 to 3 speed settings”.
- Speed limit and app: The description says you can download the “Orbital Sports” app to “unlock the speed limit”. Read the legal section below before you do.
- Display and lights: An LCD shows speed, distance and battery level, and there’s a high-brightness headlight.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- States a 750W rated motor, not just the peak number
- Removable 48V battery (720 Wh on the 15Ah pack), with a larger 25Ah option
- Front and rear suspension plus 20″ x 4″ fat tires for a cushioned ride
- 450 lb stated maximum load
- About 90% pre-assembled, with assembly videos from TST
- Low seat height makes stops easy
Cons
- Mechanical disc brakes on a 66–72 lb bike
- Spec table lists the frame as “iron” and the brakes as “linear pull”; the listing isn’t fully consistent
- Only a 180-day warranty on the Amazon listing
- 60-mile range is a best-case claim; expect roughly 29–36 miles of mixed riding on 720 Wh
- Heavy to lift and carry
- Unlocking the speed limit can take it outside e-bike rules
Who It’s For, and Who Should Skip It
Buy the TST 1500W if you:
- want a comfortable, moped-style fat bike for town, paths, beach roads and light trails
- value a low seat and an easy, upright ride over light weight
- are fine doing a careful setup: tightening bolts, adjusting the brakes and checking tire pressure
- want a removable battery you can charge indoors
Skip it if you:
- need to carry the bike up stairs regularly
- plan to ride fast and hard and want hydraulic brakes out of the box
- want a long warranty and local dealer support
- need a bike for real mountain-bike trails; this is a cruiser, not a trail bike
If you’re on the fence, compare it with the other models in our guide to fat tire e-bikes you can buy on Amazon, including the DTTZH F6, which adds keyless NFC unlock.
Is the TST 1500W Street-Legal in the US?
E-bike rules vary by state, but most states follow a three-class system:
- Class 1: pedal assist only, up to 20 mph
- Class 2: throttle allowed, up to 20 mph
- Class 3: pedal assist up to 28 mph (throttle rules vary)
Most states also cap motor power at 750W. The TST’s 750W rated motor fits that limit. Top speed is the issue: the Amazon listing doesn’t state one, but TST’s R002 page says 32 mph, and the description tells you how to unlock the speed limit with an app. A throttle bike that goes faster than 20 mph, or faster than 28 mph in any mode, generally isn’t a Class 1–3 e-bike and may be treated as a moped or motor vehicle in your state.
Our advice: keep it set to 20 mph if you want to ride in bike lanes and on paths, and check your state and city rules before you unlock anything. Always wear a helmet. Our accessory fit guide shows which racks, fenders, tubes, pumps and locks suit 20″ x 4″ fat bikes, and our essential accessories guide covers helmets and lights.
Setup Checklist After Delivery
- Check every bolt. The listing itself says to check that the parts are tight before you ride. Pay extra attention to the handlebar, stem, front wheel axle and pedals.
- Adjust the brakes. Center the calipers, set the cable tension and bed in the pads with a few gradual stops before riding at speed.
- Set tire pressure. Fat tires are sensitive to pressure. Use the range printed on the sidewall and a low-pressure gauge.
- Charge fully before the first ride, and use only the supplied charger.
- Keep your order details and register with TST, since the Amazon listing gives a 180-day warranty.
FAQ
Did you test the TST 1500W?
No. We did not physically test this bike. This review is based on the Amazon US listing (ASIN B0GCZRVH4V) and TST’s published specifications. Range figures are our estimates using battery capacity, not measured results.
Is the TST really a 1500W e-bike?
It has a 750W rated motor that peaks at 1,500W, according to the listing’s bullets. The 1,500W figure is a short-term peak, not continuous output.
How far can it go on one charge?
TST claims up to 60 miles in pedal assist on the 15Ah battery. Our estimate for mixed riding is about 29–36 miles on the 720 Wh pack and about 48–60 miles on the 1,200 Wh (25Ah) pack.
How much weight can it carry?
The listing states a maximum load of 450 lbs. We haven’t verified that independently, and a heavier load means longer braking distances and less range.
What warranty does it have?
The Amazon listing states a 180-day warranty.
Where can I check the current price and battery options?
Prices change often, so check the current price and options on Amazon.
