How We Research

Peak Fat Bikes is run by Philip Gregersen. We have not physically tested the bikes we cover. Every review, comparison and buying guide is built from research, and we say so at the top of each article.

What we use

  • Manufacturer specifications: motor power (nominal and peak), battery capacity, weight, payload and brakes, as published by the brand or seller.
  • Owner reviews: what owners report about ride feel, range, assembly and reliability. We describe these as owner reports, not our own measurements.
  • Independent research: background on motors, batteries, e-bike classes and safety standards.

How we estimate range

Advertised range figures assume ideal conditions. We estimate mixed-riding range with one rule across the site: battery capacity in watt-hours divided by 20–25 Wh per mile. Real range depends on rider weight, terrain, temperature and how much you use the throttle.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t publish prices, star ratings or review counts, because they change constantly. Check the current price on the seller’s site.
  • We don’t invent specs. If a figure can’t be confirmed from the manufacturer, we leave it out or say it’s unconfirmed.
  • Affiliate links never decide a verdict. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. See our affiliate disclosure.
